About Pai
Pai is 3 hours north-west of Chiang Mai along a famous 762-curve mountain road. It used to be a hill-tribe market town; today it is half farm village, half backpacker hangout. The valley is at 500m so mornings are cool and misted, and the surrounding hills are dotted with hot springs, viewpoints and small waterfalls.
