About Mae Wang
Mae Wang is a green valley 1.5 hours south-west of Chiang Mai. We work with a single Karen-owned sanctuary in the valley where the elephants live free, are never ridden, and the visitor cap is set by the herd, not by demand. The valley also has gentle bamboo-rafting and Karen-village homestays.
