Join our Cave & Kayak Tour for a fun-filled day exploring Chiang Dao Valley! Start with a hotel pickup and kayak along the peaceful Mae Ping River, surrounded by nature and wildlife. After 2.5 hours on the water, enjoy a tasty Northern Thai lunch. Then, explore the Chiang Dao Cave System with a 60-minute guided tour, discovering stunning rock shapes and hanging icicle-like formations.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in downtown Chiang Mai, or you can meet us at our office by 08:30. Please note that extra charges apply for pickups outside the designated area.

You'll begin your peaceful kayaking journey along the Mae Ping River, winding through lush bamboo jungles and temperate forests. Paddle through serene landscapes, enjoying the sounds of nature, as you navigate the river's twists and turns. Keep an eye out for local wildlife like water buffalo and colorful birds.This kayaking adventure takes around 2.5 hours, offering plenty of time to take in the natural beauty around you.

After kayaking, you'll enjoy a delicious Northern Thai lunch at a local restaurant or by the riverside.

You'll head to the Chiang Dao Cave System for a guided 60-minute exploration. Equipped with headlamps, you'll navigate the awe-inspiring caverns, discovering unique rock formations and ancient stalactites.

After a day full of adventure, you'll enjoy a comfortable drive back to Chiang Mai, arriving at your accommodation between 17:00 and 17:30.

The kayaking features gentle water currents, providing a good workout with about 75% active input. It is classified as leisure kayaking (Class 1) with waters no deeper than 1 meter. After the kayak journey, you'll enjoy an easy, one-hour cave walk, making this adventure accessible for most participants.

Yes, the trip is suitable for children from 6 years old, as long as they are accompanied by an adult on a double kayak.

The adventure is suitable for motivated beginners with a good fitness level. You don't need to be an expert, but having a reasonable level of fitness will help you fully enjoy the kayaking and cave exploration experience.

While it’s not necessary to be an expert swimmer, it’s important to feel comfortable in the water. The kayaking route has gentle currents and is suitable for beginners, and safety equipment like life jackets is provided. However, being able to float or swim could help you feel more at ease during the adventure.
