Itinerary

You will be picked up from your Chiang Mai city hotel, or you can choose to meet us at the Elephant Nature Park Office in the old city (the moat). Please note, additional charges apply if you're staying outside the middle ring-road.

You will go on your adventure with a guided walk. During this time, you will learn about the park’s efforts in rescuing and rehabilitating elephants and their commitment to a no-riding policy.

You will indulge in a nutritious and tasty vegan buffet, offering a variety of Asian and International dishes. Also, you will enjoy a selection of snacks, seasonal fruits, and beverages, all while taking in the scenic views of the elephant herd from our viewing platform.

You will witness the elephants as they gracefully walk down to the river and enjoy their time bathing, a truly peaceful and awe-inspiring experience.

After a memorable time with the elephants, you will be transported back to Chiang Mai, where we will drop you off at your hotel or our office, based on your preference.

Yes, volunteering opportunities are available at Elephant Nature Park. You can help with feeding the elephants and participate in various manual efforts to support their well-being. We welcome visitors of all ages, from infants to retirees, ensuring an educational and inspiring experience for everyone. We open all year round, offering various tour options throughout the year to accommodate your schedule.

We provide a range of ethical tours including half-day, full-day, and overnight volunteer experiences with full board accommodation. Each tour is designed to allow you to observe and learn about the elephants from a respectful distance without direct contact; this includes not touching, feeding, or bathing the elephants, but you are welcome to photograph them as they go about their natural activities.

Yes, the tour is suitable for children. The sanctuary provides a safe and educational environment where children can learn about elephants and their natural behaviors. However, children should always be supervised by an adult.

We do not offer refunds for booking cancellations or changes to the scheduled visit date. If your visit date is more than 7 days away, you can reuse your deposit if you reschedule within 2 years of the originally scheduled visit date. A fee of 10% of the total booking amount will be charged, plus any subsequent bank charges for cancellations or changes 6-5 days before visit. A fee of 50% of the total booking amount will be charged, if cancel or changes 4-3 days before visit. Cancellations or changes 2-1 days, there will be no refunds provided.

    it’s important to note that this is more of an observational tour — you won’t be hugging or bathing elephants like at other places. For me, that was totally fine (and better for the animals), but others in my group were expecting more interaction. So just make sure you know what you’re signing up for.

    I had been wanting to visit Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai for years, and finally got the chance. It’s absolutely the place to go if you’re looking for an ethical elephant sanctuary — no riding, no performances, just rescued elephants being cared for and allowed to live peacefully.
